Mount Bromo

Located some 4 hours drive from Surabaya, the capital of East Java, Mount Bromo is a part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park that covers a massive area of 800 square kilometres. While it may be small when measured against other volcanoes in Indonesia, the magnificent Mt Bromo will not disappoint with its spectacular views and dramatic landscapes. 





Mt. Bromo volcano in East Java is the active cone inside the giant Tengger caldera, one of Indonesia's most scenic locations destination in East Java, famous for its magnificient sunrise views and the panorama over the caldera with Semeru volcano in the background.





really is something else. It's not the mountain itself, but the sheer majesty of the experience: the immense size of the entire Tengger crater, the supernatural beauty of the scenery and the dramatic highland light really are what dreams are made of.





Organized tours by bus or jeep are available, however Bromo is best enjoyed without the help of a guide. The national park is easily explorable on your own and there are many options for viewing Mount Bromo.



The most popular option for backpackers is to sleep in Cemoro Lawang, the village nearest the rim, then walk the well-defined path (less than one hour) to witness the sunrise. Life in Cemoro Lawang is oriented around the early mornings and restaurants are open for breakfast serving delicious Indonesian food.




Mount Kelimutu

The multi-colored crater lakes of Kelimutu are a beautiful and mysterious geological anomaly. Mount Kelimutu, with its tri-colored crater lakes, is probably the most amazing natural phenomenon in Flores. Beyond that, the ‘steaming mountain’ is also the island’s most famous tempat angker, or mystical, haunted place. Although they share the crest of the same volcano and are practically side-by-side, the lakes periodically change colors independently of each other.


The narrow road through Flores is mountainous and slow-going; most visitors choose to visit the lakes by staying in the tiny village of Moni. Crowded public buses run the road to Moni regularly or you can team with other travelers to hire a private car.





If you are familiar to travel into the lake and mountains area, surely you will be familiar with greenish-black water lakes , but not for three lake in the mountain of Kelimutu in Flores. The lake is located at an altitude of 1690 meters above sea level, located in the village of Pemo, District Flores, Ende, Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT). 




Kelimutu Lake consists with three different lakes and the distance of each other are not so far. Each lake has its own uniqueness, especially from the color of lake water. The first lake named Tiwu Ata Mbupu, the second lake with called Muri Koo Fai Tiwu Nuwa and the third lake called Tiwu Ata Polo .





The natural wonders of Kelimutu Lake, providing exceptional charms. In addition to these three lakes, at Kelimutu is also has arboretum, mini forest which have an area of 4.5 hectares, where the growth of various types of trees that represent the potential biodiversity of the Kelimutu National Park. There are various types of flora whose number 78 Flora, 2 (two) of them are endemic species of Uta Onga Flores (Begonia kelimutuensis) and Turuwara (Rhondodenron renschianum) and three types of mammals, namely rats lawo (Rattushainaldi), Deke
(Papagomys armandvillei), Wawi ndua (Susheureni). At the time of the flowering season between May to August this area is like a flower garden of Eden because it will give a red color on the edge lakes. There is also a type of bird species endemic to Kelimutu, Gerugiwa (Monarcha sp), endemic bird whose voice is very melodious and often called bird of the soul, because it seldom appeared and difficult to find. With the noisy chirping birds Meandering is what always welcomes your arrival in Flores each daybreak, a chirp with 11 different voices.




Mount Rinjani

Mount Rinjani (3726 mdpl), is the second highest volcano in Indonesia, has dipuncaknya large caldera cliffs high stone repose green lake Segara Anak (2010 mdpl) and misuse of one edge decorated with a jumble of lava piles scattered around the mountain to freeze new New Mount emerged Finger (2376 mdpl).

Rinjani volcano towers over the beautiful island of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara province. Rising from the sparkling rice terraces to a dizzying height of 3.726 meters, it is the second-highest volcanic peak in Indonesia


RINJANI NATIONAL PARK The park covers an area of 41,330 ha on the northern part of Lombok. Named after Indonesia’s second highest volcanic peak outside of West Papua, the peak of Gunung Rinjani (3,726m) dominates the landscape. Within the crater is the spectacular Segara Anak lake and the still-active volcano Gunung Baru (2,363m). It is surrounded by a further 66,000 ha of Protection Forest and covers the three administrative district of West, East and Central Lombok. 

The park ecosystem is in the transitional zone between Asia and Australia (Wallace zone). Average rainfall is about 3,000 mm annually. Gunung Rinjani is rich in a variety of flora, fauna and vegetation types. On the south western side of the mountain is the most eastern extent of primary rainforest in Nusa Tenggara. 




This gives way to monsoon forest and drier climate in the east, and savannah in the north east
Notable flora includes the everlasting edelweiss flower (Anopheles viscid), tiger orchid (Vanda sp.), alang-alang grass (Imperata cylindrical), cemara trees (Casuarinas trifoliate and Casuarinas occidental). 

The Rinjani mountain is the second highest peak active volcano in Indonesia and absolutely a challenging mountain walk and you must be prepared with good equipment, warm and windproof clothing if you want to make adventure trekking to the summit of rinjani mountain 3726 m. Trekking to Rinjani mountain lombok Indonesia can attract severe storms, lightening and strong winds. When the weather is settled, the sun is intense and the nights frosty. Parts of the trail are steep and slippery.


Mount Jayawijaya, Papua

The Jayawijaya Mountains are the centre part of the Western Central Mountain Range in New Guinea. It is enclosed by the Sudirman Mountains (Snow Mountains) in the west and by the Star Mountains in the east. In the north and south it is enclosed between two giant lowland areas. Some mountains have imaginable names like Mount Goliath (Peak Yamin, 4595 meter), Mount David (4581 meter). 



The highest peak of Jayawijaya is Mount Trikora (Peak Wilhelmina, in the former Oranje Mountains), with 4730 meter the second largest peak of New Guinea and snow covered. North from this mountain is Lake Habbema, the largest lake in this area. In the centre of the area, east from Mount Trikora, is an important area for the region: the Baliem Valley. It was rather recently discovered (1936) by coincidence by a mail aircraft and appeared to have a self supporting agricultural system of high standard, without having contact with the civilized world.


Now many modern western technics are introduced as well as many new vegetables and crops. The Baliem Valley is a wide flat valley at an altitude of 1500 meter. There is a theory that the Baliem Valley was once a large lake, where the valley itself was the bottom of the lake. This would explain the peculiar flat area and the "entrance" (or "break through") in the South of the valley. 
In the valley itself is no primary forest and probably has never been there too, most of it is cultivated or are small secundary forests and bushes and plains.

Jayawijaya Mountains are also the only mountain and mountain in Indonesia which has a peak covered with eternal snow. Although not all peaks of the cluster Jayawijaya Mountains that has snow. Snow is owned by several peaks even at this time is lost due to climate change globally.


For mountain climbers, climbing the ranks Jayawijaya Mountains is a dream, because in one of the top of the hill there is the highest point of Indonesia, namely Carstensz Pyramide with a height of 4884 meters above sea level. World-class mountain climbers always come to climb the Jaya Wijaya, with reason, Jaya
Wijaya is one of the highest peak point of entry in row 7 (seven) the highest peak in the world. If you are claiming as a world-class climber, you must have climbed in the mountains Jayawijaya.

Before starting on this adventure, better if you prepare physically  in prime condition , especially for areas where the temperature can reach 0 degrees Celsius. , But that you shall pocketed a license from the relevant government authorities , it was solely for the good of us as climbers or visitors because of the terrain you will travel not only long , difficult but also dangerous .

It’s not cheap and not easy to reach Puncak Jaya , but it will be comparable to its own satisfaction that the sensation was indescribable words if you succeed there  , beatiful green scenic beauty will surely enchant you , for a while this adventure is difficult and need more time and the right time, it may be better if done by professional climbers , even if those of you who are not familiar with this activity , can be accompanied by those who have the ability to climb as well as specific experience .
